Gametime v.19 Jubilo Iwata

Here is the lineup

I will be in and out tonight.......the big episode of ROOKIES is on and if I can be totally honest, I AM HOOKED. Seriously, I know the show is geared for pre-pubescent girls and the lead actor has horse teeth and not one but TWO of the players have some weird Christian Slater thing going but man I can't get enough of this show. It's a car accident and I'm not proud of it but I watch. CONSTANTLY!
But enough about my slightly FEY TV habits....let's get to the game

Pfff... first shoot... Damn !

C'mon Verdy !!!

Scores coming in

2-1 Kyoto over Kashiwa
1-1 Tokyo FC and Yokohama FM
1-0 Nagoya over Kawasaki on a Magnum goal
Gamba-Oita and Vissel-Chiba 0-0

Big rumor about Alex Miniero possibly being picked up by Gamba. He was a monster when he played for Kashima

16 minute still 1-0

Shibasaki picks up a yellow again

And one of the Christian Slaters is blubbering on Rookies

Half time in Iwata, 1-0 Jubilo...

Hope for a better second half !

Shots are 5 to 4 for Verdy

Diego has 3 so far

More Blubbering on Rookies

They look like they are playing against a guy that looks like Tulio

Steve; are you watching the game ?

SMB said...

Just to recap.....Hattori picked up a yellow and the Horse Toothed Manager on Rookies managed to get in for the 9th inning and everybody is crying.

SMB said...

Nope just the ticker.....

Fukunishi just got yellow

SMB said...

Sugawara gets yellow

SMB said...

Last strike on Rookies....more tears. And Oguro is out for the always exciting Kaz Iio

Bring on the subs.
Iio for Oguro

GOAAAAAAAAAL VERDY !!!

Fukunishi with the assist on a 12 meter shot.

the Rookies won.....bawling all around...they are going to Koshien

Rodrigo gets yellow

SMB said...

Ono is in and I bet Hashiratani would like to have the substitution back because Rodrigo is out on a red card

Game over, 1-1 final score. A solid point. Wada in, and scores !
See ya Steve.

OK, I misread it early....Tomisawa started and got subbed for Wada who scored.

1-1 final

Other scores

2-2 Kyoto/Kashiwa
1-1 FC Tokyo/Yokohama F marinos
1-1 Nagoya/Kawasaki
1-0 Oita/Gamba
1-0 JEF/Vissel

So that keeps Verdy in 12th over the break unless Omiya or Shimzu snag a victory tomorrow.

Gamba ended up tying Oita in shots after going into the break down 12 to 1 in shots.

Vissel ends their season series dropping 5 points to JEF. 11 of their 13 points have come from Southern squads (Oita, Kyoto, Gamba, and Vissel) JEF is 3-2-1 against teams lower than Kansai and 0-2-11 against everyone else.

11 to 9 on shots with Diego notching 5.

Corner kicks were 5 to 2 for Jubilo

Cards were even 4 yellows to 4 but Rodrigo got 2 so he will sit next August.

Up next for Verdy is Albirex Niigata, who sits in 10th bizarrely enough.

Tough game to watch....1-0 down just after I`d sat down. Literally just set the tape up ( serious business of Skylarks new Triple Hamburger Egg Bacon Set kept me from watching live on Sky..and the kids/wife talking about the above) only to see Doi picking the ball out the net...nothing happened till half time from either team apart from Diego hit the bar with a free kick and Hiramoto would have had a defo peno if he hadn`t already been called for offside at the time. Pure crud from both teams.
Anyway, halftime came and went, saw on the half time commercial that all Jubilo players areHUNGGGGGRRRRY!!! dear oh dear...second half in, we scored with Wada`s second touch of the game after he`d been brought on in place of Tomisawa. Wada`s first touch was a feed to Fukunishi on the edge of the box who layed it back to him for a neat 1-2, his second touch was a defenders rocket across the keeper into the top corner when any real sriker would have kept it low and gone for the easy finish at the near post!! 1-1 then, a fair draw and lets hope next weeks (seasons....) entertainment is more interesting!!
The points go to the man in the suit this week, he brought on a sub, he scored with his second touch. What more can you ask for from a man in a suit??.
Your average man in a (monkey) suit could either get you in for free if you`ve got the right shoes on or just as easily smack you up. There aren`t many mans in suits who could deliver a point with the wave of his subs board. Good work Verdys Man in Suit!!
