Happy Valentines Day

As a small gift to you, I have a "Where is he now?" report.

Last year out of nowhere Ryutsu Keizai University defender Masaaki Iida signed up with Verdy, appeared in a couple of games, and then slipped out of the limelight and into anonymity.

Well, like the groundhog, I too have popped my head up and spotted the shadowy Iida. It turns out that Iida is now a 4th year player at Ryutsu and playing exclusively with the JFL part of the school.

The first sighting was against Japan Atomic Energy Association in which Ryutsu won 10-0. Iida contributed the 4th goal in the 43rd minute of the first half

Yesterday saw the second sighting, wher Iida anchored the back 4 against J2 side Mito Hollyhock. After 2 quick scores by Hollyhock, Ryutsu clawed their way back for a 2-2 draw

Now, I have no clue whether or not Iida has any eligibility left to appear in collegiate matches. JFL is a professional league so I don't see any problems with him appearing there, even if he did have a contract with Verdy.

It also remains to be seen whether or not Iida is still Verdy's "property".
