Wins are like wives

Sometimes the ugliest ones are the best.

On a cold and rainy August night, the two Tokyos took the field for yet another Tokyo derby. Early on it looked as if FCT would claim another victory when Cabore hit a 30 yard rocket shot to put the gasmen up 1-0. The first half was dominated by the red and blue, who should have been up by more if not for the fact that they had the finshing prowess of epileptic monkeys.

Really there were no dangerous chances until Hashiratani went to the bench and dredged up Leandro who instantly paid dividends with a pass to the streaking Oguro, who stumbled bumbled and rumbled in with his first goal in green. After what seemed like 25 yellows on Verdy ( I got one in the 83rd minute for looking at my cellphone too much) the momentum switched colors to green. Finally on the last play of the game, Diego knocked a rocket shot off the chest of the FC Tokyo keeper and out of bounds setting up the penultimate corner. A swooping kick to the waiting Daisuke Nasu gave the win to Verdy in an eerie turn from the last match. So now here comes 1st place Urawa at the same venue.

Fukunishi picked up his 4th.......again so he will sit..........2 games at least.

Leandro gets my man of the match. Why Hiramoto sat was beyond me but it worked so no complaints.

I missed it luckily enough...Overall I thought we were shite first half and Fc Tokyo bossed it completely and deserved the lead and if their strikers were decent should have added more than one. The defense stood up strong in the tackle but movement wise couldn`t keep up.Time and time again we were taken apart only for Tsuchiya or any other defender(Men of the Match for me today) to stick their foot/body/anything in to block the shot!! Great goal from Cabone nice strike..pah!! Second half, we could and should have been 2 or 3 down but a combination of CRAP shooting and resilient defending kept us in it. Oguro got his first in Green on 70 mins and it seemed to knock the stuffing out of the boys in Blue and give confidence to the Greens. Diego (who is rapidly becoming Player of the Year) then hit a blast off the joint to scare the crap out of the Fc Tokyo lot and the game opened up massively. The last 10 minutes were a free for all attacking fest, end to end with both teams going for it big time. FC Tokyo fluffed a chance, I thought Doi`s goal kick deep into injury time would signify a draw and keep my Toto dream alive but, it wasn`t to be...he launched a kick which went for a corner to give us the last chance. Que Diego with the tell tale delivery and todays number 5, Hagimura??to fire home....sometimes footy is amazing and today was one of those days!! FC Tokyo still the J Leagues "Officially Most Boring Team" Mid table mediocrity again is it?? A new trophy won today for most boring stadium announcer too!! "Here are the FC Tokyo starters.......drone...drone..." " "Mr Smith to aisle 7 please" "Till staff please" " The owner of car registration D57 2VT to the car park please"

ps FC Tokyo had the ball in the net just before the end but it was disallowed, no idea why at this time of writing but who cares!!!!!!!

There is the song

Offsides or maybe for the tackle on Doi

yup that song is pretty terrible!! Offside, I seem to recall the linesmans flag going up now.
The silence at the FC Tokyo end was quite deafening at the end. Poor little lambs must have cried all the way home!!

Fukunishi picked up his 4th yellow of the season? I thought he picked up his 10th?! Hasn't he already served several suspensions this season?
