http://hochi.yomiuri.co.jp/soccer/jleague/news/20080928-OHT1T00159.htm

Up to 10 are targeted by the oil rich Middle Eastern Kingdom including Edmilson from Urawa, Marquinhos from Kashima, Juninho from Kawasaki, Allesandro from Albirex, and Cabore from FC Tokyo.

Unfortunately Leandro was not on the list

Verdy lost but Jubilo won. I think it will be between Omiya, Verdy and Jubilo for the final 2 spaces after Sapporo. Hopefully Kashiwa will get dragged in and maybe Niigata. It makes our 3 games against Kashiwa, Verdy and Chiba massive fixtures.

Steve - are Verdy as bad as the side I watched us defeat 2-0 in Kumagaya in June? Granted DM got both goals that day but they looked pretty bad.

Absolutely on the contrary.... Verdy are perhaps the best team in the entire universe and will hammer your sorry Orange numpties next time out!!! We just like to look shite to make it interesting....its exciting at the bottom, we turned the corner in that we actually scored a goal. So beware!!
Anybody any ideas where the 30,000 crowd came from today?? Im guessing Chofu Festival free tickets offer same as last year.Free sun visors all round. You dont get that at Omiya/Schmomiya!! It should be a cracker next weekend, the match itself doesnt matter, only the result. A (s)crappy 1-0er for either side will be greeted with absolute joy from both sets of supporters Im guessing. We might as well toss a coin to predict the winner. We suck big time, Omiya are on a bad run too so Ill go for heads Verdy win, tails Omiya lose.Cmon the Boys!!!

ps I watched the game today,we ran Gamba absolutely ragged for the first 3 minutes, Iio elected to shoot instead of square the ball to Hiramoto on the edge of the six yard box for an easy tap in, Endo then had two weeks to pick his spot with a curler from the edge of the box which banged in off the post, then two minutes later Doi was beaten at his near post by a shot that was hit from somewhere near McDonalds by Tobitakyu station. Game effectively over after 12 minutes. Gamba shut up shop till half time, we got one back from Diego and things looked bright for 10 minutes then we got hit, Hattori (AGAIN!!!) gave a map, guided tour, taxi fare and travelling companion to the top corner of Doi`s goal after inviting the Gamba winger to go round the outside thus leaving a direct flight with free complimentary Airmiles on the inside which said Gamba winger was clearly heard to utter in somewhat broken English "ta very much-o, `ave it-o!!" Game over and on to next week.
We are currently akin to a cross- eyed deer that has been shot to bits, has an arrow through its forehead, blood dripping from its nose, breathing hard, coughing blood, luckily the woods are just over the next ridge...massive game next weekend!! Just as massive for Omiya so lets bring it on!!

We are crap, no doubt about it and we won't have our best forward (actually one of our only two good players we have) for the Verdy game. We can't create, can't score and can't defend. I think one of us will be going to J2 - just which is the worst team?

P.S. "Numpties" - are you Scottish?

Slow it down Nick, next week is Nagoya. Omiya is not until the 18th. and I know that JEF is on a streak but the haven't played that well.......Yokohama ia kind of in the same boat. There are teams that could reasonably drop right now so if anything it's good that both Verdy and Omiya get their slumps out of the way. September is over in 2 days and that means the wins will come again

Verdy has a problem in the fact that they have an old backline and rely on one guy to create everything......now what orange team does that sound like. If Verdy is able to hang on, they are in better shape because guys like Iida, Fukuda, Shibasaki, and Kawano are getting minutes and chances to improve. Omiya is just getting older and their oung guys are stagnating.

And can someone tell me why you give up a small schemer like Shimada for a small talentless player like Uchida?

a whily ploy Steve...making it sound like Verdy are favourites as they have younger guys!! Your Ferguson mind games won`t work on me mate!! I watched the game on telly and one of the reserves was on at halftime with the mic encouraging everyone to go to the next (home) game...got a bit overexcited there.
Ps not Scottish but mother is. A former dull Staffordshire "yoth", transported/transformed to a dull Saitama former "yoth" Yourself??

Think of the city with a football "team" that is the laughing stock of the Premiership. With Omiya I really know how to pick 'em.

You live in Dasaitama but support Verdy?

The only reason scores aren't higher against omiya is because the two idiots who do the throw ins take two to three minutes to let the other team set up and get in the best position to steal the ball and go on a break.

It was painful to watch Hato and murayama stand by as the ball went past for a goal. Almost mirror images

I only recently moved to Saitama after living in Kanagawa and Tokyo. I originally lived in Kanagawa and Verdy were just about to move to Chofu making them the closest team to my place. Hence the picking of Verdy. Funnily enough the first game I went to was an FC Tokyo v Jef game at the Olympic Stadium, didn`t really enjoy it and thought the J League was pretty lame. However, I went to a Verdy game a month or two later and decided that if I was staying in Japan I`d better choose a team. They played in Green as opposed to Kashiwa`s yellow, Id heard of Edmundo so I chose Verdy.
Saitama may indeed be "dasai" (I have seen Junior High kids riding round on bosozoku style mamma charri`s and you don`t get much more dasai than that)but I prefer it up here to either Kanagawa or Tokyo. Don`t really know why, could be the cheap places to live, could be the greenery, could be the space.Im thinking a combination of all three!! Its only Tokyo snobs who say "dasaitama". The kind of people whos brains have been poisoned by paying 150,000 a month for a 1 room dump near the Yamanote line. The kind of people who think the countryside is outside the Yamanote line. They are welcome to it, I will take my 3X the size quarter of the price dump at the end of the Tobu line thankyou very much!!

Laughing stock...that`d be Newcastle then?

Excitama then? Yes indeed I am from the Toon. Double dosage of misery at the moment.

Exactly...as the saying goes London, New York, Paris, Saitama. I hail from the tropical paradise known as Wolverhampton myself. Currently looking like Brazil though there is still plenty of time to balls it up.

Anybody recognise the scorer???....Ive seen him somewhere before....picked up where he left off then!!

Well Wednesdays results were all in our favour after Saturdays terrible sequence!! Omiya and Kashiwa both lost to leave them both looking over their shoulders and officially throwing their hats in the ring as relegation contenders. Very tough to call who is going to go down along with Sapporo.Hopefully it won`t be the boys in Green!!
Also worth noting is that so far the 3rd place team from J2 has won every promotion/relegation series since its introduction.
